Classic Detroit Muscle Car Set to Receive Custom Restoration

San Antonio, TX June 18, 2004 -- Ranger's Auto Custom of San Antonio, Texas recently started work on restoration of a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro. This classic Detroit muscle car is an original Z-28 with a Rally Sport (RS) option and a DZ 302 cubic inch engine producing 290 horsepower.

According to Ranger's owner, Leroy Ranger, the car has extensive sheet metal damage and will be re-fabricated. "The inner-lower trunk panel will be replaced as well as both quarter-panel skins."

"We're also replacing the front sub-frame with a Martz wide-track sub-frame and including coil-over shocks, power-assisted rack and pinion steering, and a sway bar for stability."

"Further work will add Hal Bear 13" brake rotors with 4-piston race calipers."
